7. Solder Mask – Adding Protection
It’s time to add the protective solder mask! This usually green layer will cover the entire PCB, leaving only open areas for the customer’s components. The solder mask acts as an insulator between circuits, preventing unwanted connections, and protects the copper from damage and corrosion. Thanks, solder mask! 🫡
To add the solder mask, we’ll cover these steps:
- Via Hole Treatment
- Printing and Pre-Cure
- Exposure
- Developing
- Final Cure
